The tiny house trend has been in the design circuit for quite some time now, but recently we have had local clients come in to inquire about going tiny. Here in Trinidad and Tobago the idea of grandeur and "bigger is better" has influenced our minds as a definition of wealth, progress and prosperity. However, a slow change in perspective has been occurring due to the economic shortfalls experienced by persons from the highest income to the lowest. For most, a home is the ultimate goal, but we’ve realized that even though most of our clients can afford the monthly installments of a mortgage, they are not able to qualify due to a high debt service ratio among other factors. To combat this problem going “tiny” may be the solution to attaining your own home without the commitment of a 30 year mortgage. Having a smaller square footage for your home can drastically reduce the cost of construction, as we described in our article, “more space, more money”. You may be surprised that by saving your own money you would have the ability to afford your own tiny home. MISCONCEPTIONS OF TINY HOMES
Below is another example of one of our Simple tiny home design completed in 2018. Here we show how space is utilized efficiently to achieve optimum function and comfort. All tiny homes are not created equally. We design homes to your specific needs and requirements. This may be the perfect option for you as it allows you to have little to no debt for your home, therefore increasing your spending capabilities and standard of living. A bonus point, it also decreases the carbon footprint of a home which is beneficial to the environment.
